Nearly 15 years ago, the original Mutant Emcee project showcased a lineup of forward-thinking artists who embodied the essence of hip-hop. Among those names was AMiAM, an Orlando-based emcee who has since cemented his place as a powerhouse in the underground hip-hop scene. Today, we shine the Mutant Spotlight on AMiAM, celebrating his journey from a promising lyricist to an undeniable force in the culture.

AMiAM, born Alfredo Rodriguez II, first gained recognition as a member of Vets of Kin, an elite collective of emcees and producers pushing the boundaries of independent hip-hop. He has been describe as a Supa Spic. Some have called him Artist or Poet. However the reality of the universe is Mygrane Mcnastee is an original Mutant Emcee. After making his splash in 2008, Mygrane sent tidal waves of mind boggling spit unto the O-zone and beyond. His sound on projects like Return 2 Da 13th Floor can only be described as the opposite of pollution. Light years away from the mainstream music that suppresses the conscious, Mygrane is one of the most underrated lyricists on the planet. His talents are Jedi-like and he is a true Hip Hop soul.
