The Pop Out Cypher brings together some of the realest names in the game — a mix of legends and torchbearers who carry the raw, unpolished flame of hip hop's golden era into the future. Featured on the mic will be heavyweights like AmiAm, known for razor-sharp wordplay and classic boom bap flows; the enigmatic and powerful MyGrain 5K, bringing thought-provoking bars and a militant delivery; the genre-bending, soul-shaking crew Black Seeds; poetic force Cydney Poitier, whose pen game pierces deeper than most; and the grimy, no-frills street chronicler Iceburg Snub, ready to bring that cold truth to the cipher.

Nearly 15 years ago, the original Mutant Emcee project showcased a lineup of forward-thinking artists who embodied the essence of hip-hop. Among those names was AMiAM, an Orlando-based emcee who has since cemented his place as a powerhouse in the underground hip-hop scene. Today, we shine the Mutant Spotlight on AMiAM, celebrating his journey from a promising lyricist to an undeniable force in the culture.

AMiAM, born Alfredo Rodriguez II, first gained recognition as a member of Vets of Kin, an elite collective of emcees and producers pushing the boundaries of independent hip-hop.
