Trippy8ce - A fresh voice with a Winning Spirit

Peace and power to my Mutant Emcee family! It’s your girl, Queen Meladee, and as Program Director for the 2025 relaunch of Mutant Emcee Radio, it’s both my honor and responsibility to shine light on the artists who represent the new wave of lyricism. Mutant Emcee is not brand new—we’ve been in this space for years—but this relaunch has one mission in mind: to bridge the gap between then and now. We want to connect younger aspiring lyricists with the OGs who set the bar, while also motivating the next generation to raise it even further.

Today, I’m thrilled to introduce you to an artist who embodies that exact mission: Trippy8ce.

Trippy8ce’s new single, “I Got to Win,” has officially entered daily rotation on Mutant Emcee Radio. That’s no small feat—rotation means your music has not only caught our attention but also earned a place in the soundtrack of our community. And let me tell you, this track is more than just a song—it’s a statement.

“I Got to Win” sounds like a freestyle masterpiece. It carries that raw, unfiltered energy of an off-the-top session, like he stepped to the mic, pressed record, and let the spirit of hip-hop flow through him in one take. The result? A hell of an introduction that instantly pulls you into his world.

From the very first bar, you can hear hunger in his voice. It’s the kind of hunger that reminds me of when the greats first stepped on the scene—when the message wasn’t about glitz or gimmicks but about proving yourself with pure skill and undeniable passion

Here at Mutant Emcee, we’ve always believed that hip-hop is more than music—it’s culture, history, and legacy. Trippy8ce fits seamlessly into that vision because his artistry is rooted in authenticity. His delivery feels fearless, his cadence rides the beat effortlessly, and his message is clear: he’s here to win, not just for himself, but for the culture.

As an emcee, he respects the craft. As a creator, he pushes boundaries. And as part of this new generation, he represents the energy we need to keep the artform thriving. That’s exactly why his single isn’t just in rotation on Mutant Emcee Radio—it also has the chance to spin on Melodic Playground Radio, where we highlight tracks that not only move the crowd but also move the conversation forward.

If “I Got to Win” is just the introduction, then I can only imagine what’s next for Trippy8ce. This record feels like a spark that’s about to ignite a larger fire. His sound is polished yet raw, intentional yet spontaneous, and that balance is what separates good artists from great ones.

To all my OGs in the Mutant Emcee family—pay attention. This is the type of artist who carries the torch with pride. To all the aspiring lyricists—listen closely. This is how you make an entrance.

At the end of the day, hip-hop thrives on evolution, and Trippy8ce is proof that the future is still in the hands of humans. So tap in, turn up the volume, and let “I Got to Win” remind you why we fell in love with this culture in the first place.

Welcome to the network, Trippy8ce. The world is listening.

Drazmatik remixed by Stan Da Man

The wait is over. After years of waiting for the world to get over their Hip Pop phase, Mutant Emcee Radio is back on the air, devoted to shining light on the real DJ's and MC's the mainstream refused to accept. While the industry was catering to the fake song stealers of the game, Mutant Emcee was breeding an unapologetic, and unfiltered culture ready to fight the bots of tomorrow.

As Vice President of Melodic Playground, it is both my honor and responsibility to help usher in this new era of hip-hop culture — not just as a witness, and spokeswoman but also a beacon of light to millions of Mutants, outcasts, and black sheeps seeking refuge from the mainstream influencers and watered down industry.

Today Mutant Emcee Radio activated a fleet of east coast soldiers to perform an underground gem that deserves the spotlight: The “Driven (Remix)” by Drazmatic, presented by Eastern Standard Time Records, produced by the legendary Stan the Man, and featuring a line-up that reads like a cipher straight out of hip-hop heaven.

This isn’t just a track. It’s a masterpiece

The “Driven (Remix)” pulls no punches. It’s an anthem for the overlooked, the overqualified, and the underplayed. Anchored by Drazmatic, a lyrical technician with razor-sharp cadence and uncompromising integrity, this remix feels like a throwback and a prophecy rolled into one. Drazmatic doesn’t come alone — he brings with him a cadre of elite spitters: Pacewon, Q-Bon, Confucius, TruWerdz, Killah Cal, Quiet, and the turntable wizardry of DJ Jay-Ski. Each artist brings their own sonic mutation to the track, creating a seven-headed beast of wordplay, style, and presence.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t about nostalgia — it’s about renaissance. Hip-hop is not dead. It’s just been evolving in plain sight, buried beneath algorithms and plastic playlists. But not anymore.

At Mutant Emcee, we believe in spotlighting artists who push the boundaries of lyricism and represent the DNA of true emceeing. We don’t care if the industry forgot them — we remember, and we don't care if the mainstream ignored them, we heard the truth and  we’re broadcasting their brilliance worldwide. Every emcee on “Driven (Remix)” embodies that ethos. Whether it’s Pacewon’s battle-tested flows from the legendary Outsidaz camp, Killah Cal’s commanding voice out of D.C., or Confucius’s reflective bars rooted in street wisdom and scholarship — this is the sound of hip-hop evolved.

But the return of this single isn’t just a one-time spin. We’re adding “Driven (Remix)” to two major pillars of our reborn platform:

  1. Mutant Emcee Radio – 24 Hour Broadcast
This track now plays on a station devoted to underground hip-hop, 24/7. Expect to hear it on regular rotation, mixed and championed by the incomparable DJ Meladik, who’s been holding it down for the culture since day one.

  2. Mutant Emcee Takeover – Daily Hour on Melodic Playground Radio
Melodic Playground Radio now devotes one hour a day dedicated to the Mutant Emcee Takeover... nothing but raw, uncut underground fire. "Driven (Remix)" is officially part of this lineup and sets the tone for everything that follows.

We don’t just play records — we set standards. And this record challenges the globe to raise the bar. If you’re an emcee, this is your measuring stick. If you’re a fan, this is your reminder: the real is alive and thriving.

To Drazmatic and every artist on this remix — welcome to the Mutant Family. You’ve just joined a movement bigger than music. You’ve aligned yourself with a culture that refuses to fade, that lives in cyphers, lives in crates, and now lives again — on the airwaves.

The Mutant Emcee Renaissance is here. And if this track is any indication, the future of hip-hop just grew claws, fangs, and a mic cord.

Stay tuned. Stay raw. And stay driven.

Queen Meladee,

Vice President of Melodic Playground,

Mutate the Mic. Save the Culture..

Ozone Pop Out - May 16th 2025

This is the call. The cipher is forming. Ground Control is proud to present a true-to-the-roots underground hip hop exhibition you do not want to miss. It all goes down on Thursday, May 16th in Orlando, Florida — and if you know what time it is, you’ll be there early. This is more than just a show — it's a celebration of the essence, energy, and unfiltered lyricism that defines underground hip hop culture.

The Pop Out Cypher brings together some of the realest names in the game — a mix of legends and torchbearers who carry the raw, unpolished flame of hip hop's golden era into the future. Featured on the mic will be heavyweights like AmiAm, known for razor-sharp wordplay and classic boom bap flows; the enigmatic and powerful MyGrain 5K, bringing thought-provoking bars and a militant delivery; the genre-bending, soul-shaking crew Black Seeds; poetic force Cydney Poitier, whose pen game pierces deeper than most; and the grimy, no-frills street chronicler Iceburg Snub, ready to bring that cold truth to the cipher.

But it’s not just the MCs that make the night — it’s the sound. Bringing the sonic heat are some of the underground's most respected beat scientists: Casey Jones, who crafts cinematic bangers with a gritty edge; Terse, delivering chopped soul loops and dirty drums that hit like concrete; Bestwon, whose sample flips feel like time travel through vinyl; and the always on-point DJ Jaymob, keeping the vibe alive with scratch precision and timeless transitions.

And holding it all together? The incomparable host, the mad scientist himself — Baron Yeti. Expect sharp wit, wild energy, and unpredictable moments from the lab-coated master of ceremonies. If you've never seen him in action, prepare for something electric.

The Pop Out Cypher isn’t just a show — it’s a statement. In an era of overproduced, algorithm-driven rap, this event is a return to form. Raw beats. Real rhymes. No filters. No gimmicks. Just that true school feel. It’s a meeting of minds and styles, a showcase of culture where bars matter and the crowd is part of the vibe.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 16th — this will be a one-of-a-kind experience you won't find anywhere else in the city. Whether you’re an emcee, a fan of the culture, a crate digger, or someone who just wants to feel the energy of real hip hop, the Pop Out Cypher is your destination.

Reminding em about Am i Am : The Combine

Nearly 15 years ago, the original Mutant Emcee project showcased a lineup of forward-thinking artists who embodied the essence of hip-hop. Among those names was AMiAM, an Orlando-based emcee who has since cemented his place as a powerhouse in the underground hip-hop scene. Today, we shine the Mutant Spotlight on AMiAM, celebrating his journey from a promising lyricist to an undeniable force in the culture.

AMiAM, born Alfredo Rodriguez II, first gained recognition as a member of Vets of Kin, an elite collective of emcees and producers pushing the boundaries of independent hip-hop. His style, defined by sharp lyricism and an unwavering dedication to authentic storytelling, has made him a standout voice in Orlando’s hip-hop landscape and beyond.

One of the defining moments in AMiAM’s career came with the release of "The Combine"—a project that encapsulates his raw artistry, clever wordplay, and deep-rooted passion for the craft. With guest apperances from Mutant Mygrane Mcnastee and even legendary names like Rah Digga and Young Zee, "The Combine" wasn’t just another underground release; it was a statement—a declaration of skill, perseverance, and hunger. The project resonated with fans and critics alike, solidifying his position as an emcee to watch.

But AMiAM’s journey didn’t stop there. Over the years, he has collaborated with hip-hop luminaries, shared stages with pioneers, and continued to drop music that stays true to the essence of the culture. His 2011 mixtape "Legend", featuring remixes with artists like Styles P and Talib Kweli, further showcased his ability to hold his own alongside some of the best in the game. Tracks like "Springtime" with Kristen Warren further displayed his versatility, proving that his artistry extends beyond just bars—it’s about crafting timeless music.

Fast-forward to today, and AMiAM has evolved into one of the most respected names in Orlando’s underground circuit. His name carries weight, not just because of his tenure in the game but because of his consistency, integrity, and dedication to pushing hip-hop forward. His contributions continue to inspire the next generation of artists, reminding them that longevity in hip-hop isn’t just about hot singles—it’s about staying true to your voice and the culture.

As we honor AMiAM in this Mutant Spotlight, we also recognize his legacy in the Mutant Emcee movement. What started as a feature on the original Mutant Emcee project has turned into a legacy of resilience, creativity, and passion for hip-hop. Nearly 15 years later, he remains a staple in the underground, proving that real emcees never fade—they only sharpen their craft.

Stay tuned for more from AMiAM as he continues to push boundaries and represent the essence of true hip-hop. The Mutant Emcee movement salutes one of its own—an artist who has remained authentic, driven, and unapologetically hip-hop.

We found Mutants up North: Alaska Borealis

After an exhaustive search across the globe, the Mutant Emcee signal has finally been detected in the icy expanse of Alaska — proof that the mission is far from over. The newest transmission comes in the form of Alaska Borealis, a hip-hop collective whose sound illuminates the cold northern landscape like the aurora dancing in the midnight sky. Officially joining Melodic Playground Radio as the latest addition to the ever-expanding network of Mutants worldwide, Alaska Borealis marks a successful breakthrough for the movement, further proving that Mutant Emcees can thrive in even the most isolated regions.

For months, rumors of a hidden enclave of sonic alchemists operating beneath the radar had circulated through underground channels. Now, with their presence confirmed, Alaska Borealis emerges from the frostbitten shadows to deliver a soundscape that fuses raw lyricism with celestial vibrations — a glimpse into what Mutant Emcee Radio will sound like when it launches later this summer. The collective’s debut album brings a fresh wave of energy to the movement, bridging the gap between ancient knowledge and futuristic sound design.

The project boasts several brand-new verses from none other than Wu-Tang Clan’s Killah Priest, a master of esoteric lyricism whose cosmic rhymes align perfectly with the Mutant mission. Priest's presence on the album solidifies Alaska Borealis as a force to be reckoned with — a beacon in the frozen wilderness, transmitting encrypted frequencies to those tuned in to the higher vibration.

Alaska Borealis blends haunting melodies with rugged boom-bap drums, reflecting the harsh beauty of their environment. The album’s production oscillates between icy synth landscapes and head-nodding drum breaks, while the emcees weave intricate bars exploring themes of self-discovery, ancient wisdom, and the struggle to survive in a world that’s forgotten the art of true lyricism.

As the global network of Mutant Emcees continues to expand, the addition of Alaska Borealis signals that the search is only beginning. From the sun-scorched deserts to the frozen tundra, the Mutant Emcee movement is unearthing hidden frequencies and activating pockets of resistance through the power of sound.

Melodic Playground Radio will serve as the official signal tower for this frequency later this summer, with Alaska Borealis providing an early glimpse into the platform’s mission to unify the underground. For those who have been searching for proof that hip-hop’s next evolution is already underway — the signal is loud and clear.

Shinobi Stalin & Tek the Intern

The underground never sleeps, and neither does Shinobi Stalin. A decade after lacing the original Mutant Emcee mixtape with his signature sound over a decade ago, Stalin is still at it and this time he team up with Tek the Intern to drop Scumbag Jazz: An Exercise in Spontaneity, a project that embodies raw, unfiltered hip-hop energy. This release is a testament to the power of unchained creativity, delivering beats and bars straight from the soul with no compromise.

For those already familiar with Stalin’s craft, this project is a reminder that he’s still operating at an elite level. His intricate wordplay, commanding presence, and effortless ability to weave storytelling with sharp social commentary remain intact. Teaming up with Tek the Intern, the two create a sonic landscape that is both unpredictable and immersive—an experiment in jazz-infused boom-bap that captures the spirit of spontaneity right in its title.

Scumbag Jazz isn't just another underground project—it’s an experience. The production swings from grimy, dusty loops to avant-garde jazz textures, creating a rich, dynamic soundscape. Tek the Intern orchestrates the chaos beautifully, laying down beats that feel like they could’ve been ripped from a late-night jam session in a smoke-filled backroom, while Stalin rides each track with the finesse of a veteran emcee who has nothing to prove but everything to say.

For the Mutant Emcee Network, this release is a full-circle moment. Shinobi Stalin’s contributions to the movement have been undeniable, and his consistency in delivering high-caliber hip-hop speaks volumes about his dedication to the craft. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or a new listener, Scumbag Jazz serves as a crucial reminder: the underground is alive, thriving, and evolving in the hands of true artists who refuse to conform.

So plug in, press play, and let Scumbag Jazz: An Exercise in Spontaneity take you on a trip through the raw, uncut corridors of hip-hop’s underbelly. The Network has been notified—Shinobi Stalin is still at it, and the culture is better for it.
